SOUTHERN-STYLE BEEF TIPS & RICE  



Here’s a Southern-Style Beef Tips and Rice recipe full of rich, slow-cooked flavor and comforting goodness: Southern-Style Beef Tips and Rice 

Servings: 4-6 Prep 
Time: 15 minutes 
Cook Time: 1.5 to 2 hours (or faster in pressure cooker)

Ingredients:
2 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin tips, cut into chunks
2 tbsp vegetable oil or bacon grease
1 medium onion, diced 
1 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth (or more as needed) 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce 
1 tsp onion powder 
1 tsp garlic powder 
½ tsp smoked paprika 
Salt and black pepper to taste 
1 pack KINDER'S Stew Recipe Mix 
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for thickening) Cooked 
white rice or rice of choice 
Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional) 

Instructions: 
1. Season & Sear the Beef: Season beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown beef in batches (don’t overcrowd), about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove and set aside. 
2. Sauté Veggies: In the same pot, add diced onions and bell peppers (if using). Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. 
3. Deglaze & Simmer: Return beef to the pot. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and beef broth—just enough to cover the meat. Bring to a boil, reduce to a low simmer, cover, and cook for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender. Stir occasionally and add more broth if needed. 
4. Thicken Gravy: Mix flour with a little cold water to make a slurry. Slowly stir into the beef mixture. Cook for another 5-10 minutes until the gravy thickens. Taste and adjust seasoning.
5. Serve: Spoon beef tips and gravy over hot cooked rice. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired.
